Ominous Secrets.
Published 1894, Milwaukee, Wisconsin by King-Fowle-McGee Company for the Pabst Brewing Company.
48 pages plus pictorial wrappers. Text in English. Profusely illustrated throughout.
Wonderful and undoubtedly rare early American beer promotional item from this still major brewing firm. Among the incunabula for the company and the industry as it relates to this type of printed novelty/ self-promotional item. The survival rate today for small paper promotional items like this from this era is miniscule, all surviving examples in all areas should probably be considered worthy of ownership.
An inherently fragile ephemeral item due to both the small pocket size as well as delicacy of the oblong booklet format.
Supernatural or occult-related item, as it pertains to forecasting the future, "coincidence" being mystical, cultural omens from around the world, luck, the power of imagination and more.
Illustrated pictorial tinted paper covers, small pocket oblong format, original staples.
Binding remains clean, tight, and sound, minor light surface dusting or staining, never offensive, ancient Egypt Sphinx desert image remains attractive.
Text block remains overall clean, and displays a pleasing age patina.
Book remains well preserved and attractive on the shelf. It displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, the age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
