Rare near miniature book in original period 1/4 leather binding. Marbled paper covered boards, smooth spine gilt ruled in compartments with 3 small floral stamps and title lettering.

Two outstanding miniature engraved plates w/ tissue guard prior to title as issued.

Rare early American printing of this classic tale. Found here bound with the story Indian Cottage by B. St. Pierre.

Binding worn, some cupping to leather, edges well scuffed, spine head well chipped.

Of note for the imprint location and date. A minor short-lived publishing firm which may well have only printed 2 or 3 books during it's brief life-span, all of which are scarce on the market in any condition.

Charming small pocket size, near miniature palm of the hand scale book.
