708 pages. Text in English. Illustrated with 165 wood engravings, numerous being(nicely detailed) full page, dozens of charming early views of towns, cities and landscapes, a couple maps, etc. Quite early American made views of many smaller locations which all display a near-folk art charm about them unique to the era and place.
Period publishers decorative full leather binding, elaborate gilt spine decorations & lettering (including American eagle), stamp embossed and ruled in blind covers with central gilt pictorial stamp (diff. eagle motif), marbled edges.
