Binding stamped by Riviere & Son, the famous leather book bindery.

Period 1/2 leather bindings, slightly raised & gilt bands, gilt title lettering, cloth covers, marbled end papers.

Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Book is not new or in "new" condition.

Binding gently age worn, leather rubbed but still supple, joints slightly scuffed, front joint with very slight cracking although covers are both firm, strong and tight, remains overall very attractive as an early 20th century book.

Text block paper is gently toned,  internally still well preserved, tight, sound.

Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
