The Works of Peter Pindar, Esq. To Which are Prefixed Memoirs of the Author's Life. A New Edition, Revised and Corrected with a Copious Index.
Published 1812, London for J. Walker, G. Wilkie and J. Robinson.
5 volumes, each c. 550 pages. Text in English. Engraved frontis portrait in volume 1.

Period full leather bindings, spines beautifully gilt stamped with urns and ornaments, titles on contrasting red leather bands, covers double ruled in gilt outline, floral blind stamped designs within, marbled edges. Date of 1812 at spine bases in gilt.

Set is over 200 years old and shows some signs of handling and time.

Bindings gently age worn, leather rubbed with some scuffing or small flaking along the joints but still supple, front cover of last volume cracked and weakened but still holding, remains overall very attractive as a set.

Text block paper is gently toned, light to moderate scattered age spotting, internally still well preserved, tight, sound.

Still attractive on the shelf. Set displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.

Please review photos for more detail and our best attempt to convey how this scarce and handsome set survives.
