Photographic Runs, Series "C". Chicago to Lake Geneva, Lake Geneva to Delavan, Delavan to Beloit.
Published 1905, Chicago by H. Sargent Michaels Co.
c. 75 pages. Text in English, with ads at front and rear. Profusely illustrated throughout with vintage rarely seen B&W photographs of roads with signs and cars in them, and local road maps (which appear hand drawn).

Publisher's soft leather binding, gilt title lettering.

A rare early travel, tourism and automobile book in any condition.

Great throw back to the early days of automobile travel before there were road maps for auto drivers (!), with verbal directions accompanied by explanatory photographs. Numerous local road maps, many of which appear to be copies of hand drawn maps. Emphasis often placed on local speed limits (around 8-12 miles per hour!) with views of what the early motorist would actually see at junctions on the way.

Book is physically old and shows clear signs of handling and time. Item is not new or in "new" condition.

Binding well age worn, soft leather covers well chipped around the edges with old tape on spine (easy to miss), hinges repaired long ago with tape, signs of handling but nothing offensive or severe, remains overall attractive as an object.

Paper is gently toned, internally still well preserved, tight, sound.

Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.

Please review photos for more detail showing how this item survives. The asking price reflects the condition based on our examination and 35+ years full time exposure to antiquarian books and ephemera of all types. Flaws seen and described have been taken into account.

Book Measures c. 7 3/4" H x 5" W.
