The Pilgrim's Progress in the Nineteenth Century, by William R. Weeks.
Published 1848, New York by M.W. Dodd.
534 pages. Text in English.
Period full leather binding, smooth spine, gilt bands, gilt title lettering on contrasting black leather label, embossed cover designs.
Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. It is not new or in "new" condition.
The binding is now gently age worn, leather is rubbed but still supple, joints slightly scuffed, remains overall attractive as an object.
Text block paper is gently toned, light to moderate scattered age spotting, internally still well preserved, tight, sound.
Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
