Reverend Legh Richmond memoirs 1829 Grimshawe ATS Christian rare leather bookBrian DiMambro- Antiquarian Books, Maps & Prints
(Old Books, 19th Century Book, Leather Books, Religion, Christianity, Memoirs).
Memoir of the Rev. Legh Richmond, by Rev. T.S. Grimshawe.
Published 1829, Boston by Crocker & Brewster.
371 pages. Text in English. Engraved frontis portrait by Balch.
Uncommon early American biography of this historical figure.
Typical period full leather binding, smooth spine, gilt bands and title lettering, contrasting red leather label.
Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. The book is not new or in "new" condition.
Binding gently age worn, leather rubbed, scuff creases down spine and along joints, binding leather still supple and sound, overall attractive as a hand made object of this era.
Text block paper is age toned, light to moderate scattered age spotting or small staining, internally still well preserved, tight, sound.
Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
