An early 18th century reprint of a 14th century manuscript held in the King's Library. Published for members of the Normandy Antiquarian Society, this volume relates the medieval tale of Robert the Devil, a legendary Norman figure who was purportedly the son of the Devil, but was ultimately redeemed through the Virgin Mary.

Period half-leather binding, raised bands, gilt lettering, marbled end papers. A medieval style frontispiece depicts a page from the original manuscript.

Book remains sound, joints scuffed, small chip at spine base, boards rubbed. Still attractive as a book, light foxing throughout.
