Period full leather binding, raised & gilt bands, gilt spine lettering, gilt ruled covers.
Item is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Item is not new or in "new" condition.
Binding age worn, covers bowed outwards. Leather remains supple, covers strongly held, small chipping at spine ends, couple small old holes along joints and to rear cover leather, remnants of original clasps remain on covers, yet still remains overall attractive as an early 18th century object.
Text block paper is toned, pictorial engraved title shows small hole and edge chipping from the original metal clasp, internally well preserved, some light old damp staining to some early pages (not severe).
Still attractive on the shelf. Item displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
