208 pages. Text in English. Illustrated with 5 full page plates which are interesting early American scenic views (3 wood engraved and 2 lithographed by Imbert). Fine view of Chittenden's paper mill, another of Catskill NY Mountain House, Cohoe Falls, Highlands Entrance (Hudson river) and the Natural Bridge of Virginia.
Period 1/2 leather binding, smooth spine, gilt bands, gilt title lettering on contrasting red leather label, marbled covers.
Binding remains clean, tight, and sound, title label chipped, leather scuffed, covers lightly rubbed.
Text block displays toning, spotting, small staining and light to moderate old damp staining, but still displays a pleasing age patina. Small hole to title page.
Book remains well preserved and attractive on the shelf. It displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, the age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
