A rare early 19th century illustrated travel account.
19th century full leather binding, smooth spine, elaborate gilt bands, embossed compartment decorations, gilt title lettering on contrasting red leather label, gilt ruled covers, marbled edges and end papers. Front cover detached, but text block remains clean, tight, and sound. Interior contents remain clean, with some moderate scattered spotting throughout.
Book remains well preserved and attractive on the shelf. It displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, the age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
