Set is almost 140 years old and shows some signs of handling and time. Set is not new or in "new" condition.
Bindings age worn, leather rubbed and scuffed with small tiny flake spots, some board edges with slight damage and loss of paper covering, front cover of first volume with slight crack down middle of cover, but still sturdy, leather remains supple, covers still well attached, overall clean and attractive as a set.
Text block paper is gently toned, evidence of former handling internally still well preserved, tight, sound.
Still attractive on the shelf. Set displays a unique age patina, the age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
