694 pages. Text in French. Engraved frontis & half title. Contains six folding engraved world and continent maps, an engraved half-title & six engraved hand colored numismatic plates showing gold and silver European coins.

Attractive antiquarian full tree-calf leather binding, smooth spine, gilt bands & compartment decorations, gilt title lettering on leather label, marbled edges.

Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. 

Binding gently age worn but still appealing, leather and joints lightly scuffed, rubbed and surface cracked but still supple and well attached, remains overall attractive as a physical object of this era.

Text block paper is age toned as typical, internally book remains mostly clean, tight and sound. A book which has been taken care of but does not look like a new book. This is an antique old book which has been handled over the past many decades.

Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in rather nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws seem easy to overlook or forgive.
