Fine and very uncommon original old 19th century lithographed German map with original outline hand color.

Scarce folio sheet mid-19th century map of which there are several variants. Large areas labelled as "colonies". Lake Torrens is an undefined partial coastal outline, still unexplored and prior to the erroneous hook shape seen shortly after this date.

Map shows signs of age, moderate scattered age spotting as seen, edges well toned/ darkened in blank margins. Paper and map image remains overall clean & sound, map will look nice once displayed.

Old maps & prints often display small minor repairs on the back, could have uneven blank margins, might have extraneous fold-lines or other small minor age flaws which do not detract from the visual appeal or value. Condition is carefully considered in arriving at our price.
