A very scarce map of Africa which depicts the mythical range Mountains of the moon as being the source of the Nile.

Fine original antique engraved map with original outline hand color.

Printed on quality handmade paper which retains its inherent structural flexibility and soundness.

In near VG or better condition, minor light surface age wear, light uniform age toning, and some scattered foxing, overall the map is clean, very attractive and well worthy of display [note: we grade very conservatively and always seek to disclose any noteworthy flaws].

The printed area remains visually pleasing, a nice impression of an interesting antique map.

Any minor defects along the sheet edges and in the margins may be seen in the photos.

Sheet measures c. 9 1/2" W x 12 1/4" H.

Engraved area measures c. 8" W x 9 5/8" H.
