Germany Empire 1725 de Fer? scarce charming miniature hand color map
Brian DiMambro- Antiquarian Books, Maps & Prints
Empire d' Allemagne. Empire of Germany.
Issued c.1725, Antwerp. Possibly de Fer or La Feuille?
Charming and genuinely scarce little early 18th century engraved map with attractive hand color.
Hanging banner title cartouche with two headed bird atop it enhances the visual appeal.
Original fold line beautifully repaired long ago on reverse using paper casting, allowing the map to now display beautifully and the fold line of almost no visual significance. A very scarce early 18th century map from a very scarce source.
Remains a nice looking example with a pleasing age patina. Any small age flaws are minor and easy to overlook or forgive.
