Issued c.1640-50, Paris by Langlois & Bery Family.
Rare decorative "carte-a-figures" mid-17th century engraved map. Some original outline hand color. Cartouche top right below the vignette view across top which includes horse drawn mail coaches with Royal guards.
With eleven small prospect city views, including Paris top center. Down left side is Roan- Lyon- Bordeaux- Marseilles & Bourges. Down right side is Tours, Angers, Poitiers, Orleans and Nantes.
Light uniform paper age toning, original fold line, two large areas of loss backed long ago with matching paper. Top left corner backed with slight loss of engraved area, remnants of old paper tape in blank margins.Priced accordingly, a perfect example would likely be four to five times this price or more.
Offered in condition as acquired due to great rarity. Appears only infrequently within map price record, often in the $2000+ range.
