(Recognition View of Eastern Asia inc. Kamchatka)
Issued 1802, Leiden (Holland) by Honkoop, Allart...
Scarce original antique engraved map. A detailed depiction from Cook's third and final voyage to this remote and previously little known location.
Printed on quality hand made paper as issued which retains its inherent structural flexibility and soundness.
In Good to near VG or better condition, normal minor light age toning to sheet as typical to paper of this era, some scattered minor foxing primarily in the blank margin, and some light age wear along the fold lines. However these do not detract from the overall appearance of the image- please inspect visual scan closely [note: we grade very conservatively and always seek to disclose any noteworthy flaws].
The printed area remains visually pleasing, a nice impression of an interesting and fascinating exploration map from the age of discovery.
Any minor defects along the sheet edges and in the margins may be seen in the photos.
Sheet measures c. 15 7/8" W x 10 1/4" H.
Engraved area measures c. 14 5/8" W x 8 3/8" H.
Original fold lines as issued.
