Beautiful mid-19th century antique map, lithographed with original hand color.
There are numerous variant versions of this map, this J & W imprint only occuring briefly between c. 1862-66.
Light uniform paper age toning, small old tape repair touching border at bottom centerfold, 3" split along centerfold well mended on reverse, original fold line, light age spotting and surface soiling, nothing offensive, nice visual appeal. An attractive American map produced during the Civil War.
Sheet measures c. 18" x 26 3/8".
Printed area measures c. 16 1/2" x 24 3/4".
