Well-preserved late 16th century folio sheet map by Ortelius depicting portions of the Mediterranean world. Three maps on a single sheet- left side depicts Turkey with Cyprus, while the right half shows Egypt, and Carthage, or North Africa around Tunis.
From the scarce 1574 printing of the atlas "Theatrum Orbis Terrarum", which van den Broecke speculates around 175 copies only were printed.
In Good+ to near VG, mostly clean condition. Edges a bit worn with tiny chipping to bottom right and left margins, tiny small splitting along blank margins.
Mostly clean and well-preserved, any age flaws very minor and scarcely visible or worthy of mention.
Sheet measures c. 21 5/8" W x 16 5/8" H.
