Period full leather binding, raised bands, gilt compartment decorations & title lettering, owner's name in gilt on cover, all edges and turn ins gilt, marbled end papers.
Item is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Item is not new or in "new" condition.
Binding gently age worn, leather rubbed but still supple, joints slightly scuffed, gilt is bright, remains very attractive as a binding.
Text block paper is toned, mostly clean, internally well preserved, tight, sound.
Still attractive on the shelf. Item displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
