In a wonderful American gilt full leather binding typical of this era and now prized today when found in fine condition.
Beautiful period full leather binding, slightly raised bands, gilt title lettering & compartment decorations, embossed rules covers, gilt cover decorations.
Book is around 160 years old and shows some signs of handling and time. Book is not new or in "new" condition.
Binding gently age worn, leather lightly rubbed or scuffed in spots, but still supple, remains overall handsome and very attractive as an object.
Text block paper is gently toned, front free endpaper removed, light minor scattered age spotting, internally still well preserved, tight, sound.
Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
