Period full leather bindings, slightly raised & gilt bands, gilt compartment decorations, gilt title lettering on contrasting leather labels, gilt pictorial cover decorations.
Books are physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Set is not new or in "new" condition.
Bindings age worn, leather rubbed but still supple, joints scuffed, spine and labels chipped as seen in pics, remains overall attractive as an 18th century object.
Text block paper is gently toned, light to moderate scattered age spotting, internally still well preserved, tight, sound.
Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
