Craftsman Magazine 1914 Illustrated Arts & Crafts Stickley designs photos 6 magsBrian DiMambro- Antiquarian Books, Maps & Prints
(Old Magazines, Early 20th Century Periodicals, Americana, Arts & Crafts Trade Magazines, Illustrated Magazines).
Published 1913-14, New York by the Craftsman Publishing Company. Run of 6 monthly Arts & Crafts periodicals, from Oct. 1913-march 1914.
628 pages. Text in English.
Profusely illustrated throughout with many interesting and well designed drawings and photographs, many in that particular style unique to the movement.
Plain institutional cloth binding (stamped 1919), gilt title lettering, old hand lettered library call number on spine, old embossed blind stamp to title page top corner of each issue. These magazines were bound up early in the 20th century to preserve them and allow them to circulate, the covers and ads were considered of no value or significance at the time.
Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Book nor contents are not new or in "new" condition.
Binding gently age worn, joints slightly scuffed, spine a bit faded, small staining to cloth covers, etc.
Text block paper is gently toned, various small signs of former browsing, couple old tape repairs, several page corners missing, no covers nor ads bound in, internally still well preserved, tight, sound.
Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
Please review photos for more detail and our best attempt to convey how this interesting bound volume of decorative arts periodicals survives.
