Dorchester Old and New 1630 - 1930 In the Old Bay Colony.
Published 1930, Dorchester, Massachusetts by Chapple Publishing Company for The Dorchester Massachusetts Tercentenary Committee.
78 pages. Text in English. Profusely illustrated throughout with interesting and uncommon photos. Very large folding city map at rear.
Publisher's illustrated paper wrappers. The large city plan is issued by the Dorchester Board of Trade. The long detailed key down the right side locates "fire stations, schools, parks & playgrounds rapid transit lines and historic spots".
Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Book is not new or in "new" condition but is still pretty nice.
Binding gently age worn, joints slightly scuffed, large bw map is clean, remains overall attractive as an object.
Text block paper is gently toned, visible old damp staining to top gutter portion of part of text block, internally still well preserved, tight, sound.
Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
