Tablettes Geographiques, pour l'Intelligence des Historiens et des Poetes Latins.
1755, Paris, Augustin-Martin Lottin.
Full period French calf, smooth spines richly gilt decorated with floral devices and contrasting leather labels, covers mottled and outline ruled in gilt, turn-ins gilt patterned, marbled end papers, all edges gilt.
Fine typography, nice paper, well printed, excellent small two volume set.
Set is a geographical dictionary as opposed to a gazetteer, which means no maps were ever produced for inclusion within this set. Thus, no maps as issued.
Very well preserved mid-18th century set.
Gilt remains bright, leather supple, boards clean and fresh, contents tight, clean and sound, an overall superb age patina.
Unique and rare set thus.
