American Universal Geography, for School and Academies on the Principals of Analysis and Comparison, by J.L. Blake.
2nd edition published 1833, Baltimore by Joseph Jewett.
144 pages. Text in English. 12 maps engraved by Hazen Morse with original hand color.

Rare American produced atlas of the era with maps by an elusive and little known American engraver.

Period 1/4 leather binding, smooth spine, gilt bands, illustrated paper covered boards.

Binding remains clean, tight, and sound. Paper covers well age toned and moderately rubbed as typical for school books intended for use during this early era, still well preserved for the type of binding.

Interior contents display a pleasing age patina with mostly light age spotting, never offensive. Overall sound, tight and fresh internally with the maps being clean and well preserved. Any age flaws are easy to overlook or forgive.

Book measures: 9 3/4" H X 7 1/2" W.
