Antiquarian architectural interior design studies.

(Architectural drawings with color hand applied by artist when drawing was rendered).

The pencil drawing with sienna red and mustard yellow color is attributed to Felix J. Duban, 1823 winner of the prestigious annual Prix de Rome in architecture.

The wall shows classical figures within an ornate paneled and fresco-style decorated neo-classical interior wall, and indeed he worked on the restoration of several important monumental castles and chateaux where work such as this would have been required.

The second design ink drawing is much earlier and two sided. On the reverse in early manuscript pen is neatly written "Profil pour la chiminee du cabinet de toillete de Madame de Beaupre, suivans les dessein d'autre pars donne par le Sr. De la Force le 24 g-bre 1731

Both original works of art are clearly very old, one mid-18th century, the other early 19th century, both by skilled trained hands.

Short video captures condition much better than words. Please watch prior to purchase to ensure a clear understanding of the pair.

Minor light toning and small staining as typical for images of this vintage, perhaps small minor paper flaws, but to our eyes and for most people, both remain fascinating historical documents in entirely acceptable and very nice looking condition.

Smallest measures c. 13 1/2" x 9 1/4".

Largest measures c. 19 1/4" x 13 1/2".
