Fine and well known mid-17th century engraved print. Depicts the Dutch fort on the island of Itamaraca off the Northwest coast of Brazil. Well detailed, small key locates buildings, numerous natives in the foreground engage in activities in boats and along shore.

An attractive and well-preserved example. Short video captures condition much better than words. Please watch prior to purchase to ensure a clear understanding of the print. Nicer than typical for the type.

Light age toning, couple minor edge repairs, and as typical for printed images of this vintage, perhaps small minor paper flaws, but to our eyes and for most people, an entirely acceptable and nice looking example.
