Ouvres de Florian.
Published 1792, Paris by Didot.
3 volumes. 282, 254, 252 pages. Text in French. Illustrated with 14 charming and beautifully rendered copper plate engravings
Period full morocco leather bindings, smooth spines, gilt bands & intricate patterned compartment decorations, gilt titles, triple gilt ruled covers, all edges & turn ins gilt, marbled end papers.
Set is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time, but is still very nice.
Bindings gently rubbed and age worn, leather remains supple and rich in appearance, overall very attractive as an 18th century set.
Text block paper is gently toned, second volume displays visible old light damp staining to much of the text block (easy to overlook), internally still well preserved, tight, sound.
Still attractive on the shelf. Set displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in very nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
Please review photos for more detail and our best attempt to convey how this antique set survives.
