De L'Education des Filles, by Francois de Salignac de la Mothe-Fenelon.
Published 1729, Paris by Jean Mariette.
299 pages. French text.
Period full mottled leather binding, raised bands, compartments richly gilt decorated, title gilt lettered on contrasting red leather band. Some chipping on spine head and tail. Any age flaws are easy to overlook or forgive.
Small pocket edition of Salignac's famous "The Education of Girls". Binding, as usual for French publications of this period remains tight and sound. Interior contents remarkably clean and free of spotting.
A lovely example with a pleasing age patina and very nice shelf appearance.
Book measures: 6 1/2" H X 3 3/4" W.
