Fliegende Blatter.
Published 1897-1898, Munich by Braun & Schneider.
Issues 2684-2709. c. 625 pages total. Profusely illustrated throughout, 75 issues consecutively bound as issued. Thousands of line drawings and specimens of original artwork found across the entire run. With the three rare color lithographed title pages by Adamo for each volume in wonderful Art Nouveau style.

A splendid range of drawing, countless dozens of fine artists work, much of it appearing nowhere else outside these pages.

A treasure trove of excellent late-19th century line drawings by some of the most talented pen artists working in Germany and Europe during this late century era. A source of inspiration for the field of modern fantasy illustration, the era of Rackham, Dulac, Kley, Klimt, Mucha, Robinson and so on.

Original period 1/2 cloth binding, marbled covers, spine gilt lettered & ruled.

Collection of 75 issues of this now rare Jugendstil-era German satire magazine.

Bound without the weekly advertising supplements (as typical for periodicals of this era, since advertising was thought of then much as it is today- as disposable and not worth saving since it changes so frequently).

Price represents under $4/ issue.  Approx. 2000 drawings within, the vast majority literally unknown today but once among the known sources for early fantasy illustrators.

Book measures: 11" H X 9" W.

[V1945].

(As an interesting aside, to accumulate these issues individually would likely a) be impossible and b) probably cost 5-10X times as much if it were).
