All edges gilt, ten full page wood cut illustrations, numerous smaller wood cuts throughout. Green paper advertising end papers, numerous ads at rear.

Packed with all types of anecdotes, advice and factual information for women of this era, in a binding created specifically to appeal to them.

Binding light scuffed, tiny stains at spine ends, overall gilt remains bright, cloth clean, binding sound, tight and with fine age patina. A charming looking little pocket sized gift book from the middle of the 19th century.
