Rare Civil War-era series of newspaper maps, depicting 16 different strategic theaters and battlegrounds during the early years of the Civil War.
Includes a detailed Union casualty list from the Battle of Bull Run with battle field diagram map. This was the first major battle of the Civil War that resulted in a Confederate victory and this extensive casualty list with map appeared just 3 weeks after the event occurred.
Maps include: Map of Eastern Virginia; Map from Cairo to Memphis TN; Strategic map of the Seat of War; Acquia Creek and its Environs (Potomac River near Fredericksburg); Seat of War in Missouri; District of Columbia; Seat of the War in the West; Position in Western Virginia, Fort Monroe and Norfolk; Harper's Ferry and the Region around; Battle Field of Bull Run; Map of New Orleans and Mississippi Delta; Baltimore and its points of Attack and Defense, Seat of War in Northern Virginia (with distances) and a small diagram of Great Bethel and its Batteries.
