Publishers full grained leather, ornately stamped in blind with Victorian-era patterning and decorations, gilt lettered spine with two raised bands.

Beautiful interior decorative harp gilt patterned  turn-ins, marbled end papers, all edges gilt. Several beautiful steel engraved plates throughout, each with tissue guard.

Elaborate and fancy premium American publisher's gift binding of the 1870-1880's era, sold primarily if not exclusively in American book shops. Rare condition survival thus.

A complete, fresh looking, clean and well preserved example. Book survives with a beautiful age patina that makes it unique and one of a kind.
