Published 1890, Barnstable, Massachusetts by F.B. & F.P. Goss.
244 pages. Text in English.
A very scarce 19th century Barnstable Mass imprint, chronicling in detail the history of some 27 family names plus much info on native American Indians of the area.
Publisher's cloth binding, gilt title lettering, embossed ruled covers.
Volume 2 only of a larger work, but this volume stands alone, the contents complete unto itself.
Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Book is not new or in "new" condition.
Binding age worn, former library book with embossed stamp to title page and remnants of old paper label on spine, front hinge cracked and re-inforced in past with a white linen tape, rear endpapers detached, remains overall attractive as an object.
Text block paper is gently toned, internally still clean, well preserved, tight, sound.
Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
