Fine original antique engraving.
A very well engraved and beautifully printed engraved print from the early 18th century by a master of engraving technique.
This particular type of highly skilled hand engraving upon metal plate printing process is now essentially extinct as method of reproducing popular portrait images, rendering this printed leaf an interesting original artifact from a past era.
Printed on quality period hand made paper which may show typical gentle signs of age, perhaps some minor light spotting or foxing, but retains its inherent structural flexibility and soundness.
In Good to Good+ or better antiquarian condition, mostly clean overall, short tear to bottom edge which has been close don the back with old paper; please inspect enlargable photo closely, any noteworthy flaws to the printed surface area should be noticable within picture provided.
[ note: We grade very conservatively and always seek to disclose any noteworthy flaws. We are doing our best to show & describe this item so you are happy when it arrives ].
The printed area remains visually pleasing and well preserved.
Overall a nice impression of an original and interesting antique printed image that any collector, curator or institution would be happy to own or display.
