(Beautiful Brunette Woman, Lovely Crimson Hat, Luxurious Fur Arm Warmer)
Issued 1905, The Saturday Evening Post
Art by Anne Estelle Rice
A visually appealing antique halftone color print which is the actual genuine original cover of this once very popular (and now very scarce) weekly magazine.
It is an original pictorial sheet extracted from a 20th century illustrated popular periodical. Like virtually all old magazines of this era (and like today), most copies were recycled or thrown away, making surviving examples rather uncommon/ scarce.
Offered for the outstanding modern appeal of the printed image as well as the historical interest of the topic and how it is presented.
In Good+ [or better] condition: Soft old crease across middle of sheet, small old light staining at lower left, displays uniform age toning and small minor age flaws as typical for paper sheets of this era. There may be light scattered spotting, soft crease across the center of the sheet, faint scattered staining, and possibly small minor edge repairs on the back with small pieces of archival tape, tiny original mailing address label may be present. Any defects along the sheet edges and in the blank margins may be seen in the photos.
Please examine the scan closely as the picture forms a central part of the description. There is a zoom feature so you can inspect the sheet close up.
There is text on the back because it was extracted from an illustrated periodical from the 20th century. Great fun to look at both sides.
Overall, the image area remains clean and very attractive- absolutely appropriate for framing and display.
[note: we grade very conservatively and always seek to disclose any noteworthy flaws].
**The type of wood-pulp paper used by the periodicals in this era is now somewhat delicate and needs to be handled carefully**
Great, unique old printed image entirely worthy of hanging for display or presenting to someone as a present.
Sheet measures c. 14" H x 10 3/4" W.
Printed area measures c. 8 5/8" H x 9 1/2" W
