Beautiful Woman Washing Checkered Floor Basin 1895 antique historic color print
$ 46.00

James Pyle's Pearline Washing Compound

(Beautiful Woman, Washing Basin, Personal Hygeine, Wicker Basket)

Art by Louis Rhead

Issued 1895, by The Ladies Home Journal

A visually appealing antique color halftone print.

About as good as an Art Nouveau ad can get. Pure Mucha-esque feminine beauty.

It is an original pictorial sheet extracted from a scarce 19th century illustrated popular large format periodical.

Offered for the outstanding modern appeal of the printed image as well as the historical interest of the topic and how it is presented.

In Good [or better] condition: displays uniform age toning and small minor age flaws as typical for large paper sheets of this era. There may be scattered spotting, moderate to heavy staining, possibly small minor edge repairs on the back with small pieces of archival tape. Any defects along the sheet edges and in the blank margins may be seen in the photos.

Please examine the scan closely as the picture forms a central part of the description. There is a zoom feature so you can inspect the sheet close up.

There is text on the back because it was extracted from an illustrated periodical from the late 19th century. Great fun to look at both sides.

Overall, the image area remains very attractive- absolutely appropriate for framing and display.

[note: we grade very conservatively and always seek to disclose any noteworthy flaws].

**The type of wood-pulp paper used by the periodicals in this era is now somewhat delicate and needs to be handled carefully**

Great, unique old printed image entirely worthy of hanging for display or presenting to someone as a present.

Sheet measures c. 15 1/4" H x 10 1/2" W.

Printed area measures c. 14 1/8" H x 9 1/2" W
