Bicycling--A Few Notes on the Craze of the Day

( American Political Cartoon, Protecting from Haphazard Cyclists, Identity Politicians, Irish Candidate, German Candidate, Labor Candidate for Congress, Accident Prone Activity)

Issued c.1903, NY, by Judge Magazine

Art by Grant Hamilton

Wonderful original antique color steam lithography print.

In Good+ to near VG [or better] condition: displays uniform age browning/ toning as typical, light scattered spotting or foxing, light edge wear, small stitch holes along the center fold line, and could have small edge splits which have been carefully and almost invisibly repaired on verso; overall the image remains clean and very attractive. Any defects may hopefully be clearly seen in the images.

Text/ illustrated advertising on verso as issued-This is an original color lithographed sheet from this now very scarce turn of the century American political periodical. Thus, it has printing on the back, which is the only way this image can be acquired other than perhaps as a modern reprint.

Please examine the images closely as they form a central part of the description. There is a zoom feature so you can see close up. [note: we grade very conservatively and always seek to disclose any noteworthy flaws ].

The printed area remains visually pleasing, a nice impression of an interesting historic political image.

A delightful turn of the century color print any collector, dealer, or institution would be happy to possess. Perfect for display purposes.

Sheet measures c.  13 1/2" H x  20 3/4" W .

Printed area measures c. 10 3/4" H x  17 7/8" W

Original fold line as issued.
