An Historical View of the English Government from the Settlement of the Saxon in Britain to the Revolution in 1688, by John Millar, Esq.
Published 1803, London by J. Mawman.
4 volumes, each c. 375 pages. Text in English.

Period marbled paper cover boards, smooth spines, gilt bands, gilt title lettering on contrasting black labels.

Some light rubbing and small scuffing to covers, spine ends slightly worn and chipped, but bindings remain clean, tight, and sound. Interior contents display a uniform, pleasing age patina with scattered spotting. Any age flaws are easy to overlook or forgive.

A beautiful and very rare set. Sets bound long ago in marbled paper are very few and far between, this being one of fewer than 2 or 3 we can recall encountering or owning over the past 35 years.

Books measure:  8 1/4" H X 5 1/2" W.
Set along the shelf measures: 5 1/2".
