Map remains fresh and clean, likely rarely unfolded since 1852.

Publisher's cloth binding, gilt title lettering with seated allegorical figure, embossed cover decorations, all edges gilt. 

Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Book is not new or in "new" condition. Map paper is toned and wrinkled, but still overall quite ok, some wear, edge splits and small defects to binding and cloth.

Paper is gently toned, various small signs of use and time, still clean, tight, sound internally.

Still attractive on the shelf. The book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in overall nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws which may be present seem easy to overlook or forgive.
