Crossing the Bitter Root
(Western U.S. Exploration Survey)
Issued c.1860, New York by Sarony, Major & Knapp
Drawn by Stanley.
Fine original antique tinted/color lithograph print.
Printed on quality paper which retains its inherent structural flexibility and soundness.
In near VG or better condition, some light minor age wear and toning as typical, faint scatterd foxing mostly confined to the blank margins and some trivial staining but the image remains clean and very attractive, well worthy of ownership and display [note: we grade very conservatively and always seek to disclose any noteworthy flaws].
The printed area remains visually pleasing, a nice impression of an interesting American image.
Any minor defects along the sheet edges and in the margins may be seen in the photos.
Sheet measures c. 11 1/8" W x 8" H.
Engraved area measures c. 8 3/4" W x 5 3/4" H.
