Wonderful original antique color steam lithography print. A very scarce German language issue.
In Good+ to near VG [or better] condition: displays uniform age browning/ toning as typical, light scattered spotting or foxing, light edge wear, small stitch holes along the center fold line, and could have small edge splits which have been carefully and almost invisibly repaired on verso; overall the image remains clean and very attractive. Any defects may hopefully be clearly seen in the images.
Text on verso as issued-This is an original color lithographed she et from this now very scarce 19th century American political periodical. Thus, it has printing on the back, which is the only way this image can be acquired other than perhaps as a modern reprint. For just a few years, Puck issued a German language version of their political humor periodical.
Please examine the images closely as they form a central part of the description. There is a zoom feature so you can see close up.
[note: we grade very conservatively and always seek to disclose any noteworthy flaws
].
The printed area remains visually pleasing, a nice impression of an interesting historic cultural image.
A delightful 19th century color print any collector, dealer, or institution would be happy to possess. Perfect for display.
