Het Kamerlid van Berkenstein in Nederlandsch- Indie. By M.T.H. Perelaer. Pictures by Jhr. J.C. Rappard.
Publ. Leiden, Holland, 1888 by A.W. Sijthoff.
Monumental late 19th century folio size Dutch color plate view book relating to the East Indies- specifically Colonial Dutch Indonesia, including Batavia.
57 fine strong color lithographed plates. Two parts (of 4), bound as issued in this heavily gilt decorated binding.
Spine professionally rebacked long ago, front cover remains bright and appealing with light scuffing, discolorations, soiling and wear, spine gently uniformly sunned. Still a well bound and sturdy book, one gathering slightly loosened.
Signs of handling and time, spotting mostly light. Photos capture condition of book very well.
Appears to be complete unto itself for the areas covered and images which show them.
Measures c.13" x 10 3/4" W.

A monumental, large heavy book!
