Lovely scarce huge engraved early 19th century antique map with beautiful original hand color. 

Note the huge fictitious interior chain Mountains of the Moon across the top of 'Unknown Parts" within central Africa. Coastline of New Guinea above Australia is still unknown at this date and rendered incomplete. 

A very large map, from a now very scarce/ rare elephant folio atlas.

Minor light surface age wear and toning as typical, some inoffensive light centerfold old glue browning, overall the image is clean, well preserved and very attractive.

Original fold lines as issued.
