Elizabeth B Browning Sonnets from Portuguese c.1900 fine ornate leather book
Brian DiMambro- Antiquarian Books, Maps & Prints

Sonnets from the Portuguese. by Elizabeth Barret Browning.
Publ. c. 1900, NY by Dodge Publ. Co. 48pp. Photographic portrait frontis.
Attractive early 20th century full leather binding, gilt title lettering, ornately blind stamped covers. Handsome binding. With an early 25 Dec. 1905 owners name written on blank fly leaf.
Book is physically old and shows some mostly light signs of handling and time.
Binding scuffed along joints and gently age worn but still appealing, leather lightly rubbed and scuffed in spots but still clean and attractive, remains overall very attractive as an object.
A splendid style of custom book binding that looks nicer in person than the close-up photo indicates (which seems to accentuate the wear).
Text block paper is gently age toned as typical, internally book remains tight and sound.
A book which has been taken care of but was used and does not look like new.
Still attractive on the shelf.
Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in rather nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws seem easy to overlook or forgive.
Please review photos for more detailed attempt to present this charming and rare book as it survives.
Book Measures c. 6 3/8" x 4 3/4" W.
