264 pages. Text in English. Early Brookfield Mass. imprint of this famous work aimed at school children.

Period full leather binding, smooth spine, gilt bands. Early girl owners name written in pencil twice [Sarah Maynard, Templeton, Mass.].

Book is physically old and shows some obvious but inoffensive signs of handling and time, as would any book or object aimed at children from this era. 

Binding gently scuffed, rubbed and age worn, leather still supple, structurally sound, lacks blank rear endpaper, remains overall attractive as an object.

Text block paper is gently toned, light to moderate scattered age spotting, internally still well preserved, tight, sound.

Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
