Brian DiMambro- Antiquarian Books, Maps & Prints(Old Books, Early 20th Century Books, Nationalism, Illustrated Books, Art Nouveau, National Anthems).
Les Chants Nationaux de tous les Pays, adapted by Samuel Rousseau.
Published c. 1905, Paris by H.E. Martin. Illustrations by Job.
c. 120 pages. Text in French. 18 lovely art nouveau offset color lithographed plates.
The color plates are really lovely, a visually pleasing style of illustration.
Publisher's illustrated cloth binding, laid down onto more modern (likely 50-75 years old?) cloth binding which is now very sturdy.
Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Book is not new or in "new" condition.
Binding gently age worn, joints slightly scuffed, light rubbing and soiling, remains overall attractive as an object.
Text block paper is uniformly moderately age toned, internally still clean, well preserved, tight, sound.
Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
